The Forest Walk @IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm 2026 programme took place on May15 and 16, 2026 to celebrate the 25 th Anniversary of the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy and the International Day of Forests 2026.

IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm also participated in scientific exhibitions and events, including STEM Day at CFS, Gambang on 30 November 2024 and Prof. Dr. Alfi’s Professorial Talk at the Office of the Campus Director, IIUM Kuantan on 5 December 2024.

Scientific visits are regularly conducted for plant documentation and research. Interestingly, different species were flowering and fruiting at different seasons throughout the year while certain species were seen heavily bloomed for the first time since the initiation of the IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm project.

‘Gotong-royong’ is the routine activity conducted to ensure sustainable forest trails. The trails were maintained by clearing the leaf litter and any fallen tree trunks or branches that blocked them and reinstalled damaged hiking rope on the slopes. All plant labels were also checked, and the damaged or dirty labels were rectified and cleaned respectively. Regular visits were also made to check the trail. A team from Daya Bersih Sdn. Bhd. also assisted us in clearing the forest entrance and the walkway of bushes, resam and dyeing acacia trees.

The second phase project of IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm has been successfully conducted from 1 st June 2024 until 31 December 2025. This project is aimed at developing the forest as a versatile living lab that could be also benefited by a wider community.

IIUM-KOMITED Pahang Forest Walk for Mental Health 2025 was successfully conducted on 19
November 2025 as part of initiatives to promote mental health and well-being through engagement
with nature and environmental stewardship.

Forest Walk @IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm is a walk activity on the trails of the IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm that has
been successfully conducted on Tuesday, 23rd October 2025. The event is organised in
celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy and the International Day of Forests
2025.

Congratulations to the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy in receiving the ‘Beautifying Garden of Knowledge & Virtue Award’ during Takrim Day 2023 for the outstanding efforts and creating bai’ah solehah to enhance educational experience in IIUM which is specially dedicated to IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm project.

IIUM Forest of ‘Ilm is currently serves as a living lab to support teaching, learning and research related to drug discovery from natural sources by researchers and students of the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy.
