General information:

A large tree which can grow up to 63 m tall [1,3], Stem with resin [2].

Distinguish botanical characteristics:

Leaf – alternate, simple, penni-veined [1]
Flower – white-pinkish, placed in racemes [2]
Fruit – red-green, with two 70 mm long wings placed on top of the nut [2]
Wood – light to dark red-brown or brown to dark brown, sometimes with a purple tint [3]

Uses:

Medicinal uses – none known
Wood (Keledang timber) – The timbers are used to produce furniture, flooring and construction [1]

Major/bioactive phytochemicals:

Tannins and terpenoids [4], antimycotic [5]
